Rustic Rook Resort is now accepting applications for our 2025 glamping season. Rustic Rook is a glampground located in Mosca Colorado near The Great Sand Dunes National Park. Rustic Rook features 28 fully furnished tents, 5 with in-tent plumbing, several grain bin studio villas and 3 campers. Our services include providing breakfast burritos and coffee each morning for all our guests as well as S’mores by the campfire each night.
Why Work at Rustic Rook Resort?
We do our best to offer a fun work environment while providing excellent service to our guests. Chatting with guests around the fire, and hearing about their adventures at breakfast make the job rewarding because we are helping people make priceless memories with the people they love. It’s fun being part of that. The property sits on 120 acers with views of the mountains and dunes – we usually hear the coyotes every night and enjoy the peace and solitude of the area – we also get to see lots of amazing sunsets and sunrises. The camp is about 4 miles from a gas station and small store, and 20-25 mins. away from the town of Alamosa where you can find restaurants, stores, etc. We are also 20 mins. from The Great Sand Dunes National Park (main attraction for guests), 15 mins. from a hot spring that also has a laundromat onsite as we do not yet have our own on-site laundry. Within an hour drive you can reach countless trailheads, and many other fun things to do including ghost towns, OTV trails, biking trails, alpine lakes for fishing, white water rafting, kayaking, paddle boarding, lots of hot springs, fun mountain towns, awesome camping spots, horseback riding and much more. One summer of exploring will only scratch the surface.
What our past Camp Hosts have to say:
“We were morning camp hosts for the Rustic Rook Resort for the 2024 season. Annette and Judah were wonderful bosses and great people. They described, up front, all the tasks and deities expected of us, and we were well-trained on each task and responsibility. Scheduling was consistent and days off were always consecutive. They even worked with us on a vacation we had previously planned. It was fun working with all our fellow camp hosts. Everyone helped each other and we truly had a dream team. We could not have asked for a better work environment or a better summer experience” – Camp Hosts Brian and Christie
“We thoroughly enjoyed our time as camp hosts at Rustic Rook in 2023. Annette and Judah, the owners, were exceptionally kind and provided excellent training for our hosting duties. Meeting guests from around the world was a highlight, and the hot coffee and breakfast burritos were a delightful perk during the morning shift. The s’mores around the campfire were a perfect way to end the day during the evening shift. The sunrises and sunsets were absolutely breathtaking, along with the mountains and stars! We appreciated the many activities available in the surrounding areas and found the town of Alamosa to be charming. The slower pace of life in Mosca provided us with a memorable and cherished experience. -Lindsey and Adam”
